The Basics Registered Name: Perfect Fool Nickname: Punch Age: Y11 Breed: Thoroughbred Colour & Markings: Bay, white star Height: 16hh Gender: Colt
Genetics: Gender: XY Coat: Ee AA
Personality: Punch is a stubborn colt who refuses to give way on most things, meaning that if he doesn't want to do something you don't stand a chance of making him. Even if you try he will likely make a fuss until you just give up. However he would never knowingly hurt someone. In fact, he is one of the friendliest colts around. He'd rather just get a bit of fuss before a workout than start a fight and he isn't dominant in the pasture either. Punch is an intelligent colt who seems to drink in the world around him and never seems to forget a face, especially if that person has done wrong to him. In the case someone has done wrong to him he will often hold a grudge and ignore them for months - even if they do entice him with food! This means that those closely involved with him cannot be around when something is going to happen that he won't like. It also means that vets visits are great fun as he warns everyone of the approach and becomes somewhat unpredictable with fear.
On The Track: Punch loves to run, and is very good at it. He has a great deal of stamina and is able to handle longer races much easier than shorter ones while favouring turf tracks. He gates well but breaks somewhat slowly when compared to other horses, allowing himself to position himself at the back of the field quickly. From there, he will sit at the back of the pack until about half way through the race when his speed will begin to pick up and when he reaches the straight he really comes into his own, using the energy saved during the race in a great burst of speed.
Pedigree: Foolish Lad x Perfection Pedigree Notes: Out of Perfection and sired by Foolish Lad, Punch has nice lines. His sire, in his first year at stud when Punch was concieved, had an amazing career on the turf, finishing his career as a grade one with wins in races such as the Breeder's Cup Turf - the absolute crown for any turf racer. Foolish Lad is out of Foolish Entity, a mare who also produced the likes of Moondance who won the Breeder's Cup Classic on the dirt. Perfection is a mare who has produced a mixed batch, however was a very good turf racer and ended as a grade one. We hope Punch will be able to surpass the achievements of his parents.
